Agadir is a city in southwestern Morocco, located on the Atlantic coast. Three languages are practiced in the city: Arabic, Berber and French. Ravaged by an earthquake in 1960, the city was completely rebuilt, Agadir is today one of the largest seaside resorts in Morocco characterized by an exceptionally mild climate throughout the year.
Following the great success and interest of the four previous editions of JIME that took place at the Faculty of Science and Technology of Settat, the 5th edition of the International conference on Materials and Environment (JIME2019) will be organized for the first time at Agadir in partnership with the Moroccan Association of Applied Sciences and Environment on 14 and 15 March 2019.
JIME 2019 will be organized by the Laboratory of Applied Chemistry and Environment (LACAPE), around the main themes '' Materials and Environment '' and will be held in two institutions of Ibn Zohr University namely the Faculty of Sciences of Agadir and the Technical Center of Sciences of Ait Melloul.
The LACAPE laboratory comprises three research teams. Its main mission is to promote scientific research and training in the fields of environmental chemistry, sustainable development and natural resource development.
Ibn Zohr University, created in 1989, is located on 5 university sites, the site of Agadir includes, among others, the seat of the Presidency, the Faculty of Sciences and CST Ait Melloul. With a student population of more than 120,000, it is one of the largest universities in Morocco by the number of students.
As with previous editions, this conference (JIME2019) will provide a more ideal academic platform for researchers to share and exchange recent discoveries on materials and the environment.
This event will be the subject of a debate between the speakers around the topics related to Materials and the Environment and the interface between the two. It will focus on the areas of natural resource development, management and treatment of drinking water and wastewater and renewable energies.
This meeting will be a moment of privileged exchanges allowing the scientific and technical influence of the university and the creation of multidisciplinary networks between the academics, the students and the various socio-economic actors.
The conference will be structured around the following themes:
- Valorization of natural resources.
- Elaboration of materials and nanomaterials and environmental applications.
- Catalysis and depollution.
